When I first started sewing from home over 30 years ago, I never imagined that one day I would be creating custom skirts for women from all over. Sewing started as both a passion and a practical skill that slowly became part of my everyday life. Over the years, I learned that many women were searching for skirts that were not only beautiful, but comfortable, modest, and properly fitted to their body shape.
One of the things I noticed early on was how difficult it was for many women to find skirts that truly fit them well. Some skirts were too tight in the hips, too loose at the waist, or simply not flattering. I would often hear women say they loved a skirt but wished it was longer, shorter, or available in another color. That is what pushed me toward custom-made fashion.
Working from my home studio has allowed me to focus on details that are often missing in mass-produced clothing. I enjoy selecting fabrics, sewing linings, shaping darts, and creating styles that women can feel confident wearing to work, church, dinner outings, or everyday activities. There is something very rewarding about seeing a simple piece of fabric transformed into a skirt that fits someone beautifully.
Over the years, I have worked with many different fabrics including wool blends, linen blends, ponte knits, and flowing materials for maxi skirts. Each fabric behaves differently, and experience has taught me how important fabric choice is when creating a skirt that feels both elegant and comfortable.
Today, fashion trends come and go quickly, but I still believe there is something special about handmade clothing. A custom skirt is not just another item hanging in a store. It is thoughtfully made with attention to fit, comfort, and personal style.
Even after all these years, I still enjoy the process of sewing and creating skirts for women who appreciate handmade fashion and timeless style.
